All Summer

So I didn't realize when I was moving back up to the Bay Area from LA that I would be saying goodbye to summer in the middle of July. Mark Twain had it right when he said:

"The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco."

That being said, I drove up to Santa Rosa from the city today so that I could get some sun (it's in the mid-80s here right now). When I return to San Francisco on Friday it will be with my Uggs and pea coat. Even if it feels like the dead of winter in SF, I'm still enjoying listening to this song by Best Coast, Kid Cudi and Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend:

Artist Spotlight: 2AM Club

I don't even remember how I first came across 2AM Club a few years ago, but I instantly was hooked on their sound. They are a little bit pop, indie, hip hop & electro--all my favs. I have impatiently been waiting for them to release their debut album after being signed with RCA and the good news came today that it will be out September 14th! Until then I will have to be content with watching YouTube videos of their music or streaming from MySpace. You should definitely check them out now, guaranteed they'll be all over the radio and MTV--not that MTV even plays music anymore--soon enough.

Do You Like Face?

It's almost been a year since I first heard this song still every time "I'll Get You (Feat. Jeppe)" by Classixx comes on my iPod shuffle I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. What I love most is that after listening to the song a million times, still everyone one of my friends, including myself, sang the lyrics wrong for months--it's"do you like bass?" not "do you like face?"

I saw Classixx spin at V Lounge in Santa Monica for my birthday this past February and they were awesome. Of course when they ended their set with this song everyone went crazy. Strange music video for it though...

Electric Daisy Carnival 2010

My second attendance of Electric Daisy Carnival in Los Angeles was just as epic as my first time last year. I mean how can you go wrong with house music, carnival rides, and neon lights??? You can't.

I do have to say that some of the big names I went to see didn't really bring it as much as I had hoped--Deadmau5 & Benny Benassi--however, I was really impressed by both Fedde Le Grand and Swedish House Mafia.
